The Galaxy Note is now on the number three version. This Note version is a large phone designed to offer the same mobile experience that a user gets from a small tablet.
Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Design
On the design aspect, there is not much tweaking done on the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, it looks so much like the original than the Note 2 due to the straighter lines. The Note 3 also resembles the Galaxy S4 because it is less curvaceous than its predecessor.
The Galaxy Note 3 measure 5.95 inches in height, 3.1 inches in width and 0.33 inches in thickness. The screen size is at 5.7 inches, but it is worth mentioning that despite the large screen size, the Note’s footprint remained virtually unchanged – it’s just longer by a mere 0.1mm, made a bit narrower and thinner, and it weighs less (from 6.35 ounces to 5.93 ounces).
The edges still have the faux-metal finish – would have been better if Samsung had gone with real metal finish for a more premium look. At the top right corner sits the power button that also serves as the standby button. The S Pen enclosure along with the mic, speaker and micro-USB port are located along the bottom edge.
If there is one notable change in the Note 3, then it will be the leather-like textured back with faux stitching. This design is actually better than the glossy feel of other Samsung devices. When you pop the new back cover off, you will see the battery, charging contacts (wireless), and the slot for the microSD (can support up to 64 GB) and microSIM.
Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Features
One of features that make the Note 3 unique is the S Pen that comes with new apps like the S Planner and the S Voice. Other features that may sound familiar to users include; Samsung Hub, Samsung Link, ChatON, and S Health. The My Magazine is a newly added feature, which can be easily accessed by swiping the screen from bottom to top or by pressing the home key.
The Galaxy Notes 3 has a 13 megapixel rear camera with flash and a 2 megapixel front facing camera. It is powered by 1.9 GHz octa-core processor, 3 GB RAM, 32 GB internal storage, removable 3200 mAh battery, and the Android KitKat 4.4 version.
If you are looking for a good mobile device that can work for you both as a tablet and a phone, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is the one you should be considering. It may not have the perfect all-metal look and feel, but it passes the aesthetic test. Not only that, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 also passes the tests for hardware and software evaluations.
All in all, there is not much difference between the Galaxy Note 3 and the previous Samsung Galaxy devices. With just a few tweaks here and there – inside and outside – Samsung has managed to come up with a better phone that offers better mobile experience.
