Operate your Unlocked iPhone with the Help of Metro PCS Services

Metro PCS has launched a Bring Your Own Device Scheme and this program allows iPhone users to operate their phone with the help of the Metro PCS Services.

If you want your iPhone to operate on these services, then you will need to purchase a $10 Metro SIM card. Also, if you are someone who is a new customer to these services, then you will have to pay for your very first month to get your membership going. The present members who would like to operate their iPhone with the Metro Services will have to buy the SIM card as stated above and will have to pay an upgrade fee of $15.

The iPhones that work with these services usually run off the GSM (T-Mobile and AT&T). They tend to be compatible because they require the use of SIM Cards in order to obtain the services. Metro PCS currently offer their own cards for their iPhone users. On the other hand, the CDMA networks such as Verizon and Sprint utilize CDMA cellular devices. The CDMA devices do not require SIM cards for their services and this is why CDMA phones do not comply with the Metro PCS Bring Your Own Device Scheme. The reason for this is because there is place created to insert the Metro SIM Card. Remember that a few iPhones can be GSM and CDMA and in this case they can be compatible with the PCS services (Verizon and Sprint iPhone 5)

If the iPhone has been flashed to the Metro Services, then it is possible to utilize the CDMA iPhone.

  • Yes – iPhone IS compatible with Metro PCS Service.  If you would like to take advantage of the services, then unlock your phone and buy a Metro SIM card.

  • No – the iPhone is NOT compatible with Metro PCS Service.

  • Flashing – 3rd party tools can be used to flash the iPhone to the Metro Services.

  • N/A – iPhone has not been created especially for these services.

Which Metro PCS Plans Comply With the iPhone:

This service currently has 3 plans for the iPhone: $60, $50, $40 plans. These plans allow the individual to have unlimited text, talk, data, and picture messaging. The difference between the plans is based on how much 4G Web Connection the users can use. So, therefore an individual can have the iPhone 2G, 3gs, 3g, 4s, and even iPhone 5 in order to obtain unlimited texting, talk, picture messaging, and data for $40 each month. You should know that the iPhone 5 device is the only real 4G LTE device. If you use other devices, then you will obtain Internet Speed that is either 3G+ of just 3g.

iPhone to Metro PCS

The most popular phone in the world known as the Apple iPhone could only be utilized with the AT&T services. Overtime, Sprint Nextel, Verizon, and even Leap Wireless started to offer this device. The Metro PCS services have been indifferent entirely throughout the process and there is no new about them selling the iPhone in the future. Individuals adore the Metro PCS services because there is no contract involved and the compatibility of these services with the iPhone is mind-blowing.

Is the iPhone 5 the Only Version of iPhone to Utilize the Metro Services?

The answer to this question is no! It has been mentioned before that the Metro PCS and iPhone enthusiasts are working on many techniques in order to make the iPhone Metro PCS a reality. In order to get the job done you will have to get your iPhone unlocked. If you flash the iPhone you will void the warranty and so the jailbreak should only be carried out by a professional or expert. The GSM iPhones from AT&T do not need to be flashed to the Metro Services. They only need to be unlocked and the activation will occur when you purchase a Metro SIM card.

How To Get the Procedure Complete?

This procedure is quite simple. In order to unlock your iPhone you should visit a third party site and select the unlock option. After you unlock the iPhone you just need to purchase the Metro SIM card to activate the phone. This process works for all of the GSM iPhones that are unlocked. The BYOD program does not support iPhones of the CDMA. In this case you will need to visit a local store so that you can get your iPhone flashed to the Metro Services. The procedure is referred to as the MetroFLASH. The flash will provide IMEI serial number of the Metro PCS services. The direct stores of Metro PCS do not support such flashing, but other companies advertise that this procedure is possible.

Is it possible to transfer the Existing PCS connection the iPhone?

Yes, it is possible. In order to transfer the services you will have to call the customer service of Metro PCS. Your old phone should be switched off throughout the process so that the signals do not come in the way of the transferring process. Call and request the customer service and ask them to send you an IMEI number of the iPhone should be kept in hand just in case and you should ask to begin the transfer process. The data packages do not operate with the transfer iPhone cellular devices, but if you have a WIFI connection, then this problem will be resolved with ease.

Frequently Asked Queries

How Can I connect the Unlocked 2g, 3Gs, 3G, 4s, 4, and iPhone 5 to the PCS Services?

Because the iPhone is not locked, also if the phone is not under the reported, stolen, or negative list, then you will just have to purchase the SIM card to activate the services. If you already are a member of these services, then you only have to pay $15 for the services. However, if you are not a member, then you will have to pay the monthly bill for the first month.

How much money is needed to unlock the iPhones for the Metro PCS services?

It will cost you from around $10-$50 depending on the 3rd party services that you utilize for the unlocking process. The Metro PSC does not unlock at their stores so you will need to purchase an unlock code from the internet. When the phone is unlocked you can use the services with ease. It will cost you $10 to buy the SIM card and around $40-$60 will be needed for the first month of the plan.

  • Unlock an iPhone – $10-$40 – 3rd Party Unlock website

  • Metro PCS SIM card + First Month Service = $50-$70

  • Metro PCS SIM card + Device Change = $25

Why aren’t iPhone 4S, 4, 3GS, 3G, and 2G take by MetroPCS but the iPhone 5 is?

MetroPCS is known to take any GMS iPhone which is unlocked such as T-Mobile and AT&T. If the MetroPCS finds the GSM iPhone unlocked, not only the negative or stolen list, then it can be utilized with the services of MetroPCS.

Can Metro flash a Sprint iPhone 5 or Verizon iPhone 5?

Sprint and Verizon iPhone 5s are able to be utilized with the services of Metro PCS through a program known as Bring Your Own Device Program because they are cooperative with GSM SIM cards of MetroPCS. Hence, there is absolutely no need for your phone to get flashed. Flashing only needs to be done if the phone cannot work with Metro PCSs program and does not have a slot for the SIM Card but you would still like to use with the Metro PCS. Flashing is known to not be directly supported by the Metro PCS and can be against their conditions and regulations. Though, it is still probable to flash a phone.

Does an iPhone Need to Have a Slot for the SIM Card in Order to Convert to Metro PCS?

The iPhone needs to have a slot for the SIM Card in order to be able to convert to Metro PCS utilizing their Bring Your Own Device Program. Though, it is still probable to utilize the iPhone without a SIM card slot if you flash the phone to this service utilizing third party services and tools.

What is Better, Flashed iPhones or Metro PCS iPhones (unlocked)?

Metro PCS is known to be able to support unlocked iPhones while they are on their network. This service does not support flashed iPhones while they are on their network. This tells us that it is better to obtain an unlocked iPhone rather than to get it flashed. You need to know that GSM phones unlocking as CDMA phones is to the flashing. If you are the owner of a GSM phone, then you can have the phone unlocked to Metro PCs. If you are someone who has a CDMA iPhone, then you can get it flashed to the services of Metro PCS. The reason for why flashing has not been recommended is because it is a tough process and the phone might not work properly while it is on Metro PCS.

Hi, I have a Magic Jack phone at home. They have an app you can download to your cell to make free cell calls through the MJ service. They say you don’t need to have a voice plan to use the app. I have been trying to figure out a way without buying a voice plan to use my Magic Jack app on a cell phone. If I bought a used iPhone without any voice or data plan, I think it could still connect to internet with Wi-Fi to download the App, but I think I could then only use the phone outside the house if I find a public Wi-Fi spot. Is there another way of doing this. Maybe some kind of prepaid phone service with limited minutes, but don’t use the minutes on the phone use the MJ app. I would still need to somehow download the app, but then I don’t think I could use something like an iPhone, I would have to use the pre-paid phone. An Idea’s? Thanks.

I have an iphone 4, it was unlocked by previous owner an given to me. I took it to Metro PCS(I’ve been a customer for about a year at that time), a couple of months ago…..purchased a sim card & paid for upgrade. It was working fine until Thurs. Dec. 18th, 2014, sometime in the a.m. At that time, MetroPCS at left top of cell, stated that it was Searching for carrier. I had full bars, but no carrier. I was able to still text, surf web & play games. It did this off & on several times through the day. I restarted my cell numerous of times(was told to do this in the past w/previous cell phone per MetroPCS). It didn’t make a difference! Went to MetroPCS on Fri, spoke w/a rep about my issues. He told me to turn off my iphone & take out the sim, wait 10 mins, then put sim back in & turn on phone. This didn’t work either. I’m still experiencing it, but it’s gotten worser! What else can be done? P.s., my monthly bill has been paid already & its not due until next month.
